IFA PRODUCTS

Our IFA slides are prepared either by growing cultures in situ within the slide wells or by blending infected with uninfected cells that have been stabilized. There is a subtle difference and we are slowly converting to the former method where justified. The appearance of the infected cell with an intracellular pathogen is optimized in order to increase the reader's ease in differentiating true positive reactions from "non-specific" ones. The specific positive reaction always looks like the positive control, while all other sources of fluorescence are termed "non-specific".
