BABESIA

Babesia microti and Babesia duncani are obligate intra-erythrocytic protozoans transmitted by tick vectors, causing flu-like symptoms as well as a malaria-like illness.  Substrate Slides are prepared with infected mouse or hamster erythrocytes, where the merozoites are visible as compact inclusions by IFA staining.
